How do I check my email?
You can check your email with an email software like Microsoft Outlook Express or from our website at http://mail.gusaol.com/.
What is the difference between webmail and Outlook Express?
The difference between webmail and application based email like Outlook Express is in webmail, all your email messages are located on the server, so you can check your email from any computer with an internet connection. On an application based email, like Outlook Express, all your email messages are downloaded from the server onto your computer, once you make a connection to the server. With this, you can check your email only on the computer where your email account is setup.
How can I check my webmail?
You can access webmail at http://mail.gusaol.com/. Just type in your email address and password and click on login.
I don't see any messages in my inbox/What happened to all my email?
There could be two reasons:

You are typing just the login name (eg: username) instead of the full email address (eg: username@gusaol.com) to login.

You used Outlook Express or other email software previously which downloaded all your emails from the server to your computer. Every time you use Outlook Express or other email program, it downloads all your email to your computer so that it is no longer on the server.
What email clients do you support?
There are a number of email software's available that you can use to check your email. Although you may use any of these for your convenience, we recommend using Microsoft Outlook Express as it is easy to use and comes preinstalled with Windows. Currently we only provide support for Outlook Express setup.

How long do you keep emails on the Server?
Emails stay on our server for 120 days. All emails that are not downloaded are deleted after 120 days.
Why do I get spam in my email and how do I get rid of them?
A lot of companies on the internet require you to fill out a form with an email address in return for free services they provide. They in turn sell these email and customer information to advertisers to target you with specific advertisements, which most of the time end up into your email inbox.
Our spam filters catch most of the spam, but spammers are determined to get past these filters, so we could never block all of it. We automatically delete the worst of it, and tag the rest with [SPAM] in the message subject.
Do you block spam or set filters to block any emails?
Yes, we delete spam before it gets to your inbox. Unfortunately no spam blocker is 100% effective so you will still receive some spam, but our filters get approximately 85% of the spam.
Do you scan emails for viruses?
Yes we do scan incoming email for viruses. Although we keep our virus definitions updated, we cannot guarantee that all viruses will be removed. We recommend that you have an up-to-date virus scan software installed on your computer.
